SUPTA PADANGUSTHASANA 2 Asana group: lying poses Translation of the name from Sanskrit: • supta — lying; • pada — foot; • angushta — big toe. 1. Setup Starting position: from Supta Padangusthasana 1, hold the raised leg with the strap or the hand. On the exhale, open the leg out to the side, lowering it toward the mat. Keep the left leg pressed down and the pelvis level. Turn the head in the opposite direction. Breathe evenly. Then bring the leg back to the center and change the side. 2. Simplified and advanced variations Simplified variations: • open the leg only as far as comfortable; • keep the raised leg bent.
